A Legacy of Local Commerce I
For over 73 years, this313 Barton Street East building was home to family-owned grocery stores that served the Hamilton (Canada) community with dedication and care. Among them was Nixon Grocer, which operated from 1912 to 1922. Today, fragments of its original custom tile still remain—a quiet tribute to the generations of local grocers who shaped this corner of the city.

Located in the heart of Barton Village, Hamilton (Canada) came the inspiration for 'Vintage Charm'.

Vintage Charm was selected and juried into the Art Gallery of Brantford 2025 Bi-Annual Holiday event (October to December 2025) in the prestigious Glenhyrst Gardens, a beautifully landscaped sixteen-acre park on the banks of the Grand River. The picturesque property was bequeathed to the City of Brantford by Mr. Edmund Cockshutt in 1956.

Vintage Charm is currently on view at The Hamilton Club - A historic gem in downtown Hamilton established in 1873. The artwork is proudly displayed and behind the grand piano in the newly re-imagined bar lounge overlooking Main Street.
